I am glad that you have found your way here. In my blog I share with you my thoughts and insights on spirituality, consciousness, growth and metaphysics, in short, the wonders of our lives.
How can I start something new with all the yesterday inside me?
We all want change in our lives, but when it happens we are afraid. We like to hold on to what we know, even if it is sometimes painful, but at least we know it. The fear of having to hold on to what is familiar and painful is often less than the fear of taking a step into the unknown. Why is that? The whole thing has its roots in the evolution of our brain. It is designed to always look for what is already known and to avoid the unknown. This actually serves to protect us. If we lived in caves or in the wilderness, this would protect us from unknown and dangerous animals or unknown and poisonous plants. But we no longer live in the wilderness and we hardly ever encounter unknown, dangerous animals.
Transforming the yesterday in me into today
Knowing that it is actually our brain trying to protect us that keeps us stuck in the "safe" yesterday, we can learn to understand our fears better without giving them complete control over our decisions and our lives. Ask yourself rationally: "What is the worst that can happen if I do this or that now, or don't do it?" Then ask yourself: "Am I able to deal with it?"
Life is change
If we look around in nature, our galaxy and our universe, we see that everything is subject to the natural laws of change. Things come into being, develop and eventually disappear again. And it is not just life forms that change and develop, it is stars, universes and above all our consciousness! The more experiences we can have, the more our consciousness will develop. After each experience, ask yourself: "What did I learn from it?" And then apply this experience to your life.
The lotus as a metaphor
I like to use the lotus as a metaphor for change. The lotus begins its life in the mud. Then it outgrows the mud, grows through the water of the lake until it finally breaks through the water surface and spends the rest of its life on the water surface, in the air. The lotus goes through three habitats (mud, water, air) in its life, and with each habitat that it goes through, it develops more and more into the beauty that we can then admire on the lake. We, or rather our soul, also go through a growth process. Our soul incarnates because it wants to gain experience and grow. We should remember that there is a power within us that is stronger than anything we have known so far. If we can connect with this power, then we draw from the source from which all life arises.
